ABOUT

I owe my passion for story to time spent listening to my grandmother share her childhood memories with me. As a young girl, I loved hearing her talk about causing mischief in the forest and building makeshift playhouses in the field next to her father’s airstrip on the Washington coast. She spoke about it with such reverent romanticism as if it were a fictional place. Each summer, I visited my grandfather’s home in a vest-pocket Washington canal town and the magic of my grandmother’s stories was made real—the weightless mist, the forests of moss-swathed firs, the starfish in rocky tide pools, the barnacles on the dock, the soft grass.

The enchanting, unique details of each place and person continue to inspire me and move me to create. As a character designer and visual development artist, I seek to transport audiences into worlds—through nuanced character expression and clear emotional story communicated with color.
